Privacy Policy

Last updated 26 June 2026 · Applies to Runway by Ludyem (the "app").

Ludyem AS ("we", "us", or "our") operates Runway, an adaptive retirement-planning app. This policy explains what data Runway touches, where it lives, and your rights. The same policy is available inside the app under Settings → About → Privacy Policy.

1. Summary

Runway is designed to keep your financial information on your device. We do not operate a backend server that collects, stores, or analyses your personal finances. Runway never connects to your bank or brokerage. Your data is never used for advertising and is never sold.

2. The information you enter

Runway works from numbers you type yourself: your age and target retirement age, current savings and investments, contributions, expected spending, income sources such as pensions, rental, or side income, property, debts, and your country. This is the raw material the planning engine uses to compute your freedom age, freedom number, levers, and projections.

This information is stored locally on your device. It is used solely to produce your plan on-device. It is not transmitted to any server we operate, and it is never included in analytics (see section 6).

3. iCloud sync

If you are signed in to iCloud, Runway syncs your plan across your own Apple devices using Apple's private iCloud key-value storage, so a new iPhone or iPad picks up where you left off. That storage is tied to your Apple Account and encrypted by Apple; we have no access to it. (Whether the contents are end-to-end encrypted depends on your device's Advanced Data Protection setting.) Some data, such as cached calculations and your active profile selection, stays local to each device and never syncs.

4. Currency conversion

If your plan spans more than one currency, Runway fetches daily euro reference exchange rates published by the European Central Bank, via the open Frankfurter API. These requests contain only currency codes and dates so we can retrieve a rate table. Your amounts, balances, and any personal data are never sent as part of a rate request. Fetched rates are cached on your device.

5. Purchases (RevenueCat)

Runway uses RevenueCat to manage optional in-app purchases (Runway Pro). RevenueCat receives a randomly-generated anonymous user identifier and your App Store transaction receipts to verify purchase status. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email address, or any financial figures from your plan. See revenuecat.com/privacy for their policy. Payment itself is processed entirely by Apple.

6. Anonymous usage analytics

Runway includes our own privacy-first analytics (built and operated by us, with no third-party analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDKs). To understand which features are used and keep the app improving, App Store builds send a small set of anonymous usage events (for example "app opened" or "onboarding completed").

7. Local notifications

If you enable reminders, Runway sends local notifications generated entirely on-device. We do not use a remote push notification service, and notifications carry no personal data off your device.

8. Not financial advice

Runway is an educational planning tool, not a financial adviser, and it is not a regulated financial service. The numbers it produces are estimates based on the inputs and assumptions you provide and on tax figures that are income-year-stamped estimates from public sources. They are not investment, tax, or legal advice. Always consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions. See our Terms of Service for the full disclaimer.

9. Children's privacy

Runway is not directed at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently received information from a child under 13, please contact us at support@ludyem.dev and we will take steps to delete it promptly.

10. California residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) may provide you with additional rights. We do not sell, share, or disclose your personal information to third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration. Because Runway processes no personal data on our servers, there is no personal information held by us to access, delete, or opt out of selling. To submit a privacy request, email support@ludyem.dev.

11. Your rights (EEA, UK, and Norway)

You can delete all Runway data from within the app at any time, and uninstalling the app removes its local data from that device. Data stored in your private iCloud is managed through your Apple Account settings.

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Norway, you have the following rights under the GDPR or equivalent applicable law: access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection to processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Because we hold no personal data on our servers, these rights are largely exercised through your device. To raise a privacy concern, email support@ludyem.dev.

Supervisory authority: As a Norwegian company, our lead supervisory authority is the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet, datatilsynet.no). You also have the right to contact the supervisory authority in your country of residence.

12. Apple's privacy practices

Runway relies on several Apple platform services (iCloud, StoreKit). Apple's handling of data within these services is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy at apple.com/privacy.

13. Changes to this policy

We will update the "Last updated" date above when this policy changes materially. Continued use of Runway after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
